I read a poem many years ago by a modern female, American poet (I think) and I forgot who wrote it or the poem's title or any phrase from it whatsoever. Well the poem was brief and it was about this guy who was real macho and loved to go on physical adventures and scale mountains and had a lot of bravado and arrogance but when he was alone at night he would sigh and weep for this lady whom he loved and lost. The poem does not give our anti-hero a name, it just tells his story in a casual manner. I'm sure someone here is familiar with it. Please help. Thank you.

That's a form of Deja Vu you have there or maybe Presque Vu!

Or perhaps jamais vu. Were you wearing your jamais when you read it?

Was there a reference to an African Grey parrot in the third line?

I searched Google using keywords, "female poet whining about her man", and got 23,300,00 results. Just to be fair, I tried "male poet whining about his woman" and got 5,060,000 results.
