I realize that I don't know directors as much as actors and I know writers even less that these. I see there are also a couple films in my local library by him: "Like someone in love" and "The wind will carry us". I'll have to see what I think of these. My favorite genre is comedy, but I expect these to be something else.

I remember seeing and liking "The wind will carry us". What I like about iranian films is the glimpse they allow into a different culture, usually with much creativity and little money.

I just finished "A Taste of Cherries". It kept my interest. The ending was somewhat puzzling, but better than the two alternatives being presented throughout. That in itself is a good lesson that we probably don't know all the possibilities.

I am glad it interested you, specially as your favorite genre is comedy, Yes/No and this is more an introspective film,which makes one think. I found the end puzzling too: somehow it seemed to say, "This is just a film, but it could be yours, anybodys or nobodys story."

Here is the review on another Iranian film I liked. It was smuggled out of Iran into the festival of Berlin, because the director was condemned to a silence of 20 days and 6 years of domiciliary prison. Since then he has used unusual locations for his movies: his own house, a taxi...
Unfortunatelly I didn´t find the fiml itself in the net.
