Some people say that sight is the most important sense, others say hearing. So, which of the five senses do you think is the most important? Why? Regards.

Same as before: sight before hearing. :)

I'm looking out for you. :)
Do I sound lost or something? I'm grown up enough to detect my location in reality.

So, why do you think sight is the most important sense? I need an answer badly, please.

So you don't walk into walls of course! :)
Why do you need the answer so badly?

Well, it is a question for discussion, so (of course) it is needed to be answered, you smart guy. I'd like to exchange views on a certain subject matter, or else to have a solid reference if necessary. Regards.

Oh don't be hurt.
It's better to be deaf than blind because it is easier to secure one's personal safety and take care of one's daily living tasks when one can see. It is also simpler to master sign language than to learn Braille. Plus you get to look at pretty girls.
Now then, there are several good reasons for preferring sight to hearing. You are welcome (and give my regards to your English teacher. :) )

You are my English teacher, Pompey. Believe it or not, I am myself a teacher of English. And I work at a language school as well. I like to ask questions and interact with English-speaking people, if you do not mind. I benefit a lot from this. Regards.

You are welcome, sir! And, um, shokeran! (I know that is only phonetic, but I don't know Arabic characters). Some other time I will tell you of my travels in Egypt in the 70s and 80s. Not today, though. You have a nice day, too! :)

I was friends (several years ago) with the recently deceased Denver Collins, the brother of folk singer Judy Collins. Their father (acc. his stories) was blind. Nonetheless, he was able to navigate city streets and country fields by echo-location. Apparently he would whistle while he walked about, and could thus avoid bumping into things. He never used a cane,or a seeing-eye dog. He was also a successful lawyer.
I wonder if his acuity of hearing and his daughter's musical talents were somehow related. According to Denver, Dad tried to teach other blind people his techniques, but none of them were able to navigate with anywhere near his facility.

I guess there are "visual" persons and "auditive" persons. For me the sight is more important than hearing. Most of my activities demand eyesight. But I think for some people hearing may be more important, for example those that love hearing music.
The Argentinian author Jorge Luis Borges went blind after an accident. He then had to dictate his stories and poems to a secretary. But he must have been a very visual person. Even after blindness his texts are full of minute descriptions of scenes and places.

Some of these comments remind me of a book I read recently called All the Light We Cannot See, which is about (among other things) a blind woman living in St Malo during the Nazi occupation.

The auditory, you can put me in a prison for a whole life with music for instance.m very sensitive to sounds.
However,i have been told once that what remains in our memory is the smell
and recently i read that the olfactory nerve goes directly to the Amygdala So I learned to smell myself :)
