Hello all,

I come in need of help. I am in search of an excerpt from a book about the winding roads and obstacles of life.

I have begun a film project in which I filmed my friends and I's road trip to San Francisco. He recently graduated and landed a job out there. My goal for this film is to create a cinematic piece depicting that terrifying transition from young-adulthood to adulthood, while using the road trip as a metaphor for that long and often bumpy journey.

For the audio portion of the film, I was going to do a voiceover of a book excerpt about life and/or travel that captivates this message. I would love to hear all of your recommendations! Please feel free to comment with the excerpt or even a message which could point me in the right direction.

I look forward to hearing your replies.

I can't think of anything at the moment, but I wish you well with the project.

There are several novels on the theme. But it seems you are looking for something especific.

Agreed. I am currently re-reading On the Road by Kerouac trying to find such a passage but so far have not had much luck. Hopefully I will stumbled upon one soon.

There may be something appropriate in
Grapes of Wrath.

You donīt have to be tuned in with Latin American politics to enjoy it. The book is basically a "formative odyssey ".
"The book has been described as a classic coming-of-age story: a voyage of adventure and self-discovery that is both political and personal." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Motorcycle_Diaries_(book)
