I read Moliere's greatest play The Misanthrope (translated by the American poet Richard Wilbur) 3 times and can say that the first time I read it was so deliciously wonderful. His other plays are good too but The Misanthrope is far and above greater than them. Has anyone read Wilbur's version???

I've only had three blissfully happy reading experiences: A Clockwork Orange, Libra and The Misanthrope.

Hello:

I didn't read that version but I like the Moliere's works. All the Moliere's stories are entretening, with sarcastic language, and very original. Moliere always uses the words of way elegant, I only regret that are so short. By the way, my favorite Moliere's play is the The Imaginary Invalid. To Read the play is good, but see it on stage is unique; the word comes to life, when someone says them with passion.
