is there such a thing as too much reading?
if so what would be the ideal amount a week?
in effect a book can change or hook.

Tough one. I don't know if there is such a thing as too much reading, although I imagine there is, at some point your brain might get really tired of it. I think you will notice what your limits are as you try to read more.

I would also say that if you try too hard to read as many different things as possible, you lose sight of close reading and won't get much out of the books as you might otherwise.

If one is worried that one will not be able to read everything, that might be a sign of too much reading. In case anyone wonders, no one can read everything. Well, computers can "read" everything, but if it were up to them, which it isn't, they wouldn't bother.

One crappy author is too much reading.
But of literature, joys endure.

That's an interesting thought, Cacian. What did you mean?
