Everyone has a start, and here is mine :cornut:

Marching towards the majestic angel looking at my nervous comrades,
While their thinking of the death of their kids, their family, their loved ones,
I'm thinking about the death of Adolf Hitler,
I seem warm on the inside but I'm cold on the outside,
I've got a job to do,

The blitz brigade are fast,
But we're faster,
It's too late to step down now,
I've got a job to do

Pushing the throttle into gear,
I feel the adrenaline rising,
the sergeant is barking orders,
I don't care,
I've got a job to do,

Slowly the landing gears spin spin and spin,
I'm ready to step into free air,
I've got a job to do!

Speeding through the sky,
Splitting clouds in half,
It feels like I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
I chuckle then spit out my fear,
I've got a job to do,

I can see the distant Lufftwaffe plane
I can feel sins crawling up my spine,
But I ignore them,
I've got a job to do,

The shells of the bullets jam and fire,
Gunning down the nazi,
The smoke of fear fuels my energy,
The screech of that scumbags plane is my lullaby,
Thus the death of him,
I've got a job to do...

Welcome ! Interesting first offering. I enjoy war poetry from all ages. Are you a WII vet ? or channeling some bygone relative or movie or song ?

Ta ! (short for tarradiddle),

I rather feel that you have somehow been dumped here from a junior school playground (circa 1969) still clutching a tuppeny blood in your grubby paw. I'm afraid that I don't particularly want to read it, thank you.
