I can't say your favourite authors are mine, but I did enjoy Life: A User's Manual enough to buy the French text, although I've only looked at a few chapters.

What amused me there was something ineffably French about the whole thing, and yet Perec came across as very Anglophiliac, if that's the word. There was a reference to the local provincial newspaper in the area where I grew up, which amused me.
