25 days I have been jailed
Knowing not for what I am jailed
Knowing not why they longed their hairs
Knowing not whether there is peace
Inside my Iraq I felt strange
Inside my Iraq my name was stolen
Then I had no name
Among the date-palm tress,
I took a rest
Then I had a nap
Forgetting that I am still alive
As a sound calling me inside the earth
That I am a man involving to earth
Then a warmth breeze patting my hair
And I felt that my soul is mine
And it can never escape
Unless there is a missing hope
And a heart clashing the ribs
Then I as if want to sleep
On the ground I currently going leap
Of the time still knocking into my mind
Of past days when we were young
Going around the yoke
Waiting the farm to reap
I again looked to the date palm- trees
I felt on a bit of sorrow
That those trees yet are strong
And we the nation fear from death

I like this poem, though can't say exactly why, other than you expess your fears so well. Against the background of the growing chaos in Iraq I can relate to fears for your relatives still there. Every day now there are reports of many dead in the fighting.

I liked the poem also especially how it sets the context quickly at the beginning with the narrator being jailed without apparent cause.

Thank you both for contact also writing comments
My verse is my tongue
Life is likely a prison made at our nowadays
Jailed or not jailed the pragmatic meaning continuously referring back to the content which in so extent could not move as if paralyzed fingers on a hand looking free, thus the last stanza could be linked on another way for the beginning one a man who has been jailed and being strange.
In addition, the date palm trees are a good symbolic occasion on the midway of a dark place verbally nominating the discussed mater of the lack resolution on a city, which it is picked out to be a victim of such occasion that hardly could be recovered.
Days and nights had been passed yet no light on the end of the tunnel could be limiting the torture of people.
Really they are 25 days of jailing on a mater the jailed one had no reason but to defend about something of his rights they deliberately confiscated and just on a sharp voice or a moderate voice to say "No".
I had to discuss more but the time is much coward to deal with or to depend on it but let me just to say Hello for you.
See you next time and lastly I would like to say Hi for my relatives who are abroad now.

For your link Dreamwoven
I accept you that the war likely will begin on either Syria or Iraq.
It is a part of a reasonable fact could be expected for the lack of justice and the background of the civilian conflict which it has a radical coherence of multiple facts to sectarian reasons have ensued after Saddam Hussein overthrowing as well as the others who like him.
Their dictatorship leading way the area witnessed about quarter century or more, moving the course of life to be more complex.
On the other hand, many people feel that those dictators are as if a secure cover could trap down the many controversies of much conflict could be arisen on the future.

Foot here and foot there:
-----------------------------
Let me frankly tell you Dreamwoven that the war side or the complex got around in Iraq is due to the politicians who yet don't take a sincere action to deal with the terrorism issues that threatening the country because most of them having a position on the government and on the same time having hands with terrorism groups and that's the fact which for so far extent going broken up the process of combating terrorism.
Nothing is clear devoted to take a part on the progress to build a good steps of success into the programs of the government's actions development.
They likely seem going for their portions of the dead cake dividing it for more slices and the nation suffering from hunger.
Therefore, we can't expect any progress or can expect the end of the catastrophe of this policy pattern in Iraq.

Again let me telling you something to be everywhere known:
-----------------------------------------------------------
We the citizens of the Sunni regions which now are out of the central government control, they don't give us our total salaries of the past months as we are officially retired after the last incidents of Mosul occupied by ISIS groups then we lost many salaries as the total salary of the year 2015 but for 2016 we had it.
I don't know why they treat us on such mistreatment step of cutting off our salaries for the year 2015 and the reward of one's got for pension since it is something pertaining to his honorable rights after ending one's (40) years officially services.
I might everywhere publish this case to be known; please if you know a suggested place such a magazine or or a web could deal with human's rights soon tell me.
