Does anyone know what incident this suggests?

Did the EEC actually ban British sausages? when? why? can anyone find articles about that?????????

The EEC? That was quite a while ago. The European Economic Community became the Economic Community, then the European Union. There used to be stories like this. I cannot remember the EEC trying to ban British sausages, but it is plausible. British sausages were full of all sorts of unmentionables.
