Even though it's extremely cold and uncomfortable the bare hands can make the best snowball. The difference between a baseball and a barehanded snowball is the sudden explosion from a bat, fingerprints , figure 8 stitches it has around its globe.

According to your text thtowing snowballs must be a very cruel game. I don´t see absolutely any fun in hurting someone, be it a person or an animal.

Boys weren´t always cruel. The problem lies not with boys or girls, but somehow cruelty seems to be gaining a positive worth in more recent times. I live in a country were snowballs are an impossibility because it snows seldom and only in one or two specific places. But I remember walking home behind two schoolboys about 10 or 11 yars old. One of them was telling the other one how he and his group beat down another boy:"Man, it was great!" he said. I thought that some 15 years ago this same boy would perhaps feel ashamed instead of exhilarated.
