Hi everyone!

This question is for the writers and editors.

May I please get your help about how to minimise the Word (2007) ribbon using a keyboard shortcut?

I have to switch between editing and writing and it would help a lot. My zoom is large so the extra space helps.

Ctrl+F1 doesn't seem to work.

Thank you:)

Right click on the ribbon. Select Minimize the Ribbon. Or press F1 to open Word Help.

boy guys, im not too bad with Word, but you've lost me on "the ribbon" (although its making me think of something funny from Seinfeld).

scotchtape, im also a little puzzled by a distinction between editing and writing.

The ribbon is the bar at the top of Word. All of the images are contained within the ribbon. Image examples - the clipboard, font, paragraph, styles

bounty - how does "the ribbon" remind you of a Seinfeld episode? I'm not sure, but there is no soup for you!

ah thank you Curtis...I know the part youre talking about now---I never heard it called that.

there's an episode where Kramer is doing an AIDS walk and he doesn't want to wear "the ribbon" that they try to give him at the registration. the people give him a hard time saying he was to wear 'the ribbon' and he pushes back and gets away with not. later during the walk, someone points out he's not wearing "the ribbon", the situation escalates until the two gay toughs that had stolen Elaine's armoire from him in an earlier episode turn around and say "who, who does not want to wear 'the ribbon?'" everyone takes great offense at this and Kramer ends up getting pummeled and later staggers across the finish line of the walk, all beaten up and tattered.

you might remember, that earlier episode was the soup Nazi episode! that's how Elaine ended up with all his recipes.

I love in the final episode when the soup Nazi appears on the witness stand, and the prosecuting attorney asks him after he had said his name "could you spell that please" and the soup Nazi, said "no, next question!"

Now that you mentioned it, I remember "the ribbon" episode. That's a hilarious one! Thanks for the response. I can't stop smiling...
