How about a thread for extreme weather events you've just lived through, like yesterday's horrendous thunderstorm/tornado combination that stretched from the southeast up here to New England. It poured buckets non-stop for about eighteen hours, then last night there was a monster electrical storm with high winds that went on for hours. There was even a tornado warning for places near here like parts of New Jersey, which is incredible because we never get tornadoes up here. Hurricanes and gales, yes, but not tornadoes. Anyway, the power went out for a bit last night, and today the internet is out (I'm using my phone as a WiFi hotspot), and in general it was scary and immense. Anyone else get hit?
