I bought a book called "Jonathan Wild: Prince of Robbers" for a pretty penny on eBay a while ago. The author is a chap called Frederick J. Lyons. I am trying to locate any information on this man. I am doing research into the creation and maintaining legends of nefarious figures, both those who become folk heroes like Jack Sheppard and those who earn a place as villains, like Jonathan Wild. i know Mr. Lyons wrote and had the book published in 1936. I know it was published by a firm later purchased by Victor Gollansz Ltd. From the dedication in it, Mr. Lyons was married. I found a grave online of a Frederick J Lyons who died in 1953 but if it is the author or not I do not know. If anyone can help me with any info, it would be much appreciated.
