Hello! I am new here but am excited to dive into a community of word-lovers, much like myself. I enjoy writing poetry and find myself most attracted to free verse. Some argue that free verse is not a true form of poetry, but I find it to be the most touching. I hope you enjoy reading my work!
Once upon a time
I wrote a love note
to give you if ever we met
and I used every word I knew
to mean I love you
so you'd know my heart you kept.
Yet, how strange,
as time wondered by,
I saw more of myself than you
and I knew the self I was
would never be half of your two.
So, I took flame to this page
and sent my words to the sky
and forever I'll hide from sight,
living in a world of what could have beens
and once upon a times.
