There is a short story, I believe by Isaac Asimov, about two professors arguing about something along the lines of Zeno's paradox of the tortoise and Achilles. Essentially, a machine is built that shrinks a man in half every time he gets halfway out of the machine. In the end, the man who is inside becomes so small he falls out of the machine because he has gone past the sub-atomic level.

Alternatively, my memory might have failed and the story could be by Philip K. Dick instead; it has been a couple of years since I read it. I'd greatly appreciate any help in searching for the name of this title. Thank you.

"The Shrinking Man" comes to mind (novel/ Richard Matheson and movie: "The Incredible Shrinking Man").

*** This is prolly what you're looking for (after a bit more research)...
Phillip K. Dick, in his 1953 short story "The Indefatigable Frog", uses Zeno's paradoxes as a basis for an experiment that places a shrinking frog in a tunnel, thus always increasing the length of the tunnel relative to the frog. ... ref: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/301499398

Hope this helps,
