Hi, I'm doing a research project on stress, and would like to begin my presentation with some statistics. For those who vote, I will really appreciate it. Thanks!

I used to think stress was good, that it prompted me to work at maximum efficiency. Then I realised it was doing terrible things to my physical and emotional health, so now I try to live as stress-free a life as possible. My work output has lessened only slightly, and my creative output has skyrocketed. Stress certainly never helped me - it only ever held me back.

Stress seems to get in the way as if one is not living life right. I view it as a sort of illness like a cold.

It depends on the amount and the type of stress. A little bit of stress is beneficial to me. It helps to push me to my limit, multi-task, use time more efficiently, and then I feel a sense of achievement at the amount of work I've done. I'm a housewife, so I'm under stress only at certain times of the day. The rest of the time I can do things (or not do things) at my own pace.

Of course I understand there are other kinds of stress, and when the stress is due to having more work than you can deal with, that's bad.

I find money to be quite detrimentally stressfull. I'm an educator living with my young adult children; all of us are struggling financially. I had thought it would work better but so far, not so much. One is currently looking for work, which is part of the problem. But as Scarlett O'Hara (or someone) once said, there's always tomorrow.

Well, if you mean stress as pressure, i do not mind it because i do my best to ignore it. Of course, stress as fatigue, it can be only bad.

I suppose it depends on whether the perception of the stress is negative or positive. Exercising for example places me under stress but I obviously believe there are benefits to that whereas my workplace environment might have negative effects - unless I shift my perspective and find that I perform better, or differently.

I used to get all twisted up when I cared about my job but since I don't anymore I'm not as stressed.

Whether stress is beneficial depends on how I perceive it. Stress may be a challenge to overcome or nightmare to survive.
