In Joe's Diner
the air is sticky
Of greasy burger smoke
and cigarettes
The flipper's hair
and the waitress' pink lipstick smile
The tables and seats
and cutlery
The counter
and cash register
The jukebox and
television screen
The notes and coins
I receive for change
The eyes of Mr Handlebar
and the Coca Cola mirror
The yellow lino floor
with a thousand coffee spills
And soups and syrups
and sauces and slop
and tears and sorrows
I walk out
the heels of my my boots sticking
with ridiculous gravity
the air is sticky
Of greasy burger smoke
and cigarettes
The flipper's hair
and the waitress' pink lipstick smile
The tables and seats
and cutlery
The counter
and cash register
The jukebox and
television screen
The notes and coins
I receive for change
The eyes of Mr Handlebar
and the Coca Cola mirror
The yellow lino floor
with a thousand coffee spills
And soups and syrups
and sauces and slop
and tears and sorrows
I walk out
the heels of my my boots sticking
with ridiculous gravity
