I think that far from the madding Crowd is a beautiful book. it explores different kinds of love and i found it lovely to read. The only thing wrong with it was Hardy's tendencie to be thrown be insignificant details and the fact that nearly everything happen on the last 30 pages. I also think that he wasted his time writing some chapters- prehaps a re written modern version would be good for people who have no patience.
