Welcome! There's a lot of slang. Some of it I don't understand. One thing you could do is go onto YouTube and type in something like "How to talk redneck". In place of redneck put in something else like "southern" or whatever you happen to be studying and you will get an earful of slang.

Admittedly, this isn't slang "in literature", but maybe YouTube is a kind of literature.
