Spring and Solitude

In my mother's garden
(of dead hydrangeas
and drying geraniums)
calm and abandoned,
I've been waiting
for the blue butterfly
that landed on my arm
(while I was alone
smoking my last bowl
yesterday at high noon)
as though to tell me
we could go somewhere.

I'm a poor critic but this poem resonates more with each reading. I am particularly struck by calm, abandoned and the location/setting for your theme
