Hello
I ask for your help to assist me in finding the original short story I read around 1990
It is non-fiction I read in a magazine.
The story is about about a woman and her husband that live in a condo on Central Park, Manhattan
I believe it is call 'Halloo Lady" or something close to that
The woman sees a homeless woman living under umbrellas on an easy chair across the street in the park
She helps the homeless woman with food and trying to get her medical and social services help
Her husband is not to keen on this
The homeless woman tells fantastic tales of being of French aristocracy
The homeless woman dies and the only thing the authorities find on the homeless lady is the wealthy woman's phone number and a safety deposit box key at Chase, I believe.
She goes to the bank and opens a rather large safety deposit box and.....
I wont tell you the ending
A wonderful wonderful story I would live to find again
If you can help me I would be eternally grateful... and you will read a great short story.
