There is no section for discussion of video games, so I thought I'd start a thread. While I am currently delving deeper into the immense world of Fallout 4, increasingly I find myself (like an old man) enjoying simple games on my PC. For example, I found a good jigsaw puzzle game, and I play Hearthstone, which is the kind of card game I like 'cause it's got magical elements. I continue to look, however, for other simply but fun games, so if any of ye know of any, please suggest them. Either that or skin a forest dwelling rodent and wear its fur as an earmuff. You choice.

I'll let the rodent live.

The games I play aren't really considered games, but they probably are. I post poems to the poetry challenges and discuss topics in threads. The poems can be viewed as a puzzle to say something intelligible that sounds nice based on a prompt. The topic of various threads are also like prompts for research and thought. For example, I consider your thread on magical realism to be a sort of game. I am trying to think of something to post to that thread now.

Kill the rodent. It's one less rodent, and you'll have warm ears.
That's an interesting take on gaming, and prior to video games would have been more widely recognized as a definition of games. It kind of reminds me of my childhood with Avalon Hill games, where people would actually play each other by mail. Then there were the Steve Jackson games, which were fun because they were small and portable, as opposed to the massive Avalon Hill games which required an entire dining room table. ;-) Those small portable paper games that were fantasy oriented were sort of a precursor to WoW and such. I never got into D&D. Guys who were into D&D were to be strenuously avoided if one ever wanted to see a naked breast. :-0 (Until, that is, they founded billion dollar software companies, at which point the girls bearing the breasts decided to, well, bare their breasts, for said geeks, who thus had the last laugh.)

Fallout 4 looks excellent, but as with all Bethesda games I'm waiting till all the DLC are released, all the bugs are ironed out, the Game of the Year edition is released, and the whole thing is discounted on Steam. In any case, I'm still nowhere near finishing Fallout: New Vegas...

I finally finished the insanely huge download of GTA 5 yesterday, so I suppose that'll be my next main game! My PC is a bit old and whackery now, but I'm hoping it'll run reasonably well.

Quite so. I admit to having run into a few bugs with Fallout 4, but they're passing. By the way, Lok, I've been meaning to ask you whether it's the building you're in that's lurid or whether the building is a lurid pink.

It was the building that was a particularly lurid shade of pink - but that was a few moves ago now (a consequence of my increasingly nomadic lifestyle). The house I've just moved into is much less colourful, but does have an extraordinary surplus of staircases...

There are other games. For example, I do some yoga and mediation. My goals are bit extreme. One day I want to see a Goddess and levitate, but I will probably have to settle with finally getting my legs in a proper lotus position.

I almost spewed my tea all over the comforter here, YesNo. "I want to see a goddess and levitate." Ha ha ha. Don't we all. And the places I could go with that comment, places that would get me banned from the forum ;-)
