They came them one, they came them all
With noses large, with noses small
From Budapest to Bucharest
To the First International Booger Fest
Word had spread quick as fire
To folks with flu, and colds dire
To the Eskimos in their igloos
To the hayfever racked Ecuadoos
Prizes promised to lure them in
So came the Japs and the Chinamen
Of holidays to far off places
East to West, and all the races
Those with issues across the lands
There'd be no tissues, only hands
Nothing to bring, just your nostrils
From New Zealand, from the Australs
A week long test of endurance
No cures allowed for the entrants
Practice sessions would all be brief
To ensure no chance of relief
First to the stand was the mighty Howie
He was the champion of Zimbabwe
He blew and he blew and out he through
A monstrosity all green and blue
It stuck to the walls and slowly slid down
Into puddles that slowly turned brown
But its distance short and its texure runny
The jury thought this was funny
No prizes he, but an honorable mention
As each next applicant increased the tension
They bubbled, they hissed, and they steamed
But was everything as it seemed?
Yes of course, all within the rules
Regardless of standing or of schools
But it was a little girl from a little island
South of Scotland, North of Ireland
She snorted and sneezed and finally let go
Of a wonderful bright green glow
It flew out the window across the field
It looked like it would never yield
Tape measures were not enough
But tracked on radar for a month
Around the world thirty time
Hit a satellite and made it chime
Before settling into an orbit of its own
Just above her hometown
It shines so bright out so far
They point and say "That's Susie's Star!"
