A few years ago, for English, we were given a short horror story to read, and i cant recall what it was called or find it anywhere. It goes a little something like this:
A man has a toothache and goes in to get it checked. The dentist comes in and starts to operate, the man is numbed so he cant feel anything.
During the procedure, a couple of things occur:
- The doctor slips, and something gets caught in the mans throat, which is removed by the dentist.
- The man feels a sharp pain on his mouth.
other things occur but i cant remember what they were.
eventually, the man comes to, but what he finds is horrible. His mouth is held open by a contraption, his lips have been cut into strips and nailed to his face.
The object that went into his throat turns out to be his tongue, which is now just a stub.
The dentist reveals he is not a dentist, but an escaped mental patient who was fired for experimentation. The dentist leaves through the fire escape, ending the story.
If anyone knows what this story is called, and where i might find it, it would be appreciated. I was telling a friend about it and he wants to read it.
