I can see the good points and bad points about this book. I personally did not really enjoy it. It did not hold my attention, but I realy think the book was well-written and I like Stephen Crane's descriptions. I really only recommend this book to anyone who likes war stories about a self-focused kid. I read this book for an eigth-grade literature project this year. My class had lots of projects involving the book! We're working on after the book projects right now.<br><br>-Mary K.
