INSPIRED BY TUPAC AMARU SHAKUR'S POEM THE ROSE THAT GREW ON THE CONCRETE
(THANKS TO YesNo FOR POSTING THE LINKS TO THE POEM!)
Rose on Concrete
Dreams are nothing but absurd
That's what they choose to believe,
Oho! They must have never heard
About the rose that grew on the concrete,
Why do they choose to be blind
When the truth is there to see,
Oho! I hope in their heart they will find
About the rose that grew on the concrete,
I only wish you don't forget the truth
Or lose hope in the fight and leave,
Oho! Stop for a moment and let me tell you
About the rose that grew on the concrete,
Sometimes we all feel lonely
Even when we tell ourselves that we are free,
Oho! I stop and realize it is only a story
About the rose that grew on the concrete.
Wew! Tupac Shakur was a beautiful soul and his original poem, which in my opinion, talked about the strength of the human spirit even when thrown in the worst circumstances, can still become something utterly beautiful. And my belief that Rap is a version of poetry. Please don't kill me for saying that!
I'd love to hear what you guys think of this poem! Be honest with me!
