On Twilight Island
Blue clouds drift thickly
Over a sky of purple custard
The sea a glistening green jelly
Slow laps the beach of shiny marbles

Distant tiny thimble ships
With spiderweb sails
A rainbow of fishscales
All the iridescent towels
And papier-mâché seagulls

Sandcastle people pose
For their polaroid photos
As the sun drops mechanically
Little by clunking little
Into the rising horizon

A colorful description of the twilight milieu! It is as if you were standing on a distant cliff, nature's grand stage, watching the Day's parade drift past you. I enjoyed the pageantry!

I enjoyed reading that. A bit of a struggle to imagine, but fun!

Enjoyed. I found the retrospective of polaroid photos interesting.

I felt compelled to muss with your poem a bit; forgive me my indulgence:

On Twilight Island
Blue clouds drift thickly by
Sail upon a purple custard sky
The sea a sheen of jelly green
Laps slowly upon a beach of polished aggies1

Distant tiny thimble ships
Masts arrayed with spider-silk sails
Fly flags: A rainbow of fish scales
Reminiscent of iridescent towels
Where carefree papier-mâché seagulls wheel

Sandcastle people; selfies pose
Eager for developed polaroid photos
Oblivious to the mechanics of the sun
Slipping little by clunking little
Eager to meet the rising horizon

1Marble (toy) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Aggie - made of agate (the next part cracks me up: ) aggie is short for agate or glass resembling agate, ..."

I love the innocence and playfulness you bring to the forum.

Ta ! (short for tarradiddle),
