What mean the phrase " Space of a moon " in the bold part of the following sentence ?
"I made the prince my slave, and his slave, who was a Tyrian, I made my lord for the space of a moon."
please paraphrase the bold part of the above sentence.
it is from " LA SAINT COURTISANE " by Oscar Wilde

"A Moon" is a lunar month, (29 days I think). So Tyrian was made lord for about a month. But I notice he/she says " I made (Tyrian) my lord", and remember the Moon has romantic connotations and literary allusions, so there may be more to it than a simple time period in the context of the piece.

Yes, for the space of a moon means a month. Note also that a Tyrian is someone from Tyre, a city in Phoenicia (modern Lebanon).

I think it means the prince fell madly in love with him, and he fell madly in love with the prince's slave, for about a month.

A short time. I know a human who usually enslaved her followers for such a short time. A heartbreaker.

There is an irony in the idea of making "him my lord"
