Hi everyone. :smile5:

I'm Munshie and new to the forum.

I read reasonably widely but my reading of fiction is limited to (hard) science fiction (can't abide fantasy or vampire stuff) and crime/suspense thrillers. My non-fiction reading ranges from science, history to travel writing. If it's written in an engaging and informative manner I'll read it.

I have always had an interest in writing, including poetry. I make no bones about being a political animal and that along with my knowledge & love of science is often reflected in what I write. Yet I also have a romantic side and I have written stories on that theme too - but with a non-eurocentric twist.

I hope people will be a little forgiving until I get the hang of how this particular forum works. :)

Hello Munshie. Welcome to the site. I wasn't sure from what you wrote, but are you interested in reading more fiction? If so, you will certainly find a lot of good recommendations here.

My heartfelt advice is to get to know people a little before striking out on too many crusades. You will find people of many political and religious/non-religious perspectives here. You sometimes learn more if you listen a little before telling them how to get it right. Patience works both ways, right? :) in any case, welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy yourself here.

Welcome, Munshie!

There is a link to lit net poetry contests in my signature. They are basically writing prompts. The winner gets to set up the next prompt/contest and select the next winner after a few weeks. I've found they keep me writing something.
