Interesting.... I didn't like the first episode, but now I am liking it a lot. I think it is lacking a couple of notches of that deeply disquieting suspense that was so present in the first series though. Colin Farrell is excellent and Velcoro is an interesting character for sure. No spoilers but wait till you see episode 4. Wow. That's all I'm saying......

love the series, wasn't sure how they could make another season after the brilliance of the first one but this one is just great too. Colin Farrell is great and I am surprised by Vince Vaughn too.

The baby issues with all the men is odd though but I am interested in seeing were they all go.

Baby issues with the men...... hmmmm.... I hadn't even picked up on that theme, but you are right. Vince Vaughn has a lot more acting range than I would have thought as well. I like Farrell's character the most though, much more complex then the first episode would have led you to believe. I have noticed some kind of over the top cliche dialogue that was missing from the first series, but other than that I am pretty much all in at this point.

Whooeee, helluva ride.

I didn't think they could wrap it up in one episode after last week, but they did. No spoilers of course, but I thought the ending was superb, and it certainly played to Helga's insite above.

At any rate, as the series went on I became more and more impressed with Vince Vaughn's performance. He really does, as somebody said above, have a broad range as an actor. And of all the back-stories and sub-plots, I thought the most compelling one was the story of Frank and his wife. They spent a lot of time on it, but it was time well spent and it rounded out the characters well.


Frank - Can you see me managing an Applebee's?

Jordan - I worked at an Applebee's. They give you a shift meal.

Don't know why those lines stuck with me. They just did.

I watched all of this series, which early on was a burden. It took about 4 or 5 episodes for me to understand what the heck was going on. But when it "clicked," it "clicked." I did admire it as much as the premiere season (which in itself was a
"first," in that it featured Matthew McConaughey with his shirt ON!)

I was most impressed with Rachel McAddams's performance. She was cast against type, as is said, and "rose to the occasion," as is also said.

Wonder if she be remembered a year from now when the Emmy nods come out. But I do hope that they don't ignore Constance Zimmer, the devious, career-driven producer on the devilishly satiric series, "Unreal."

This year, it's going to Taraj B. Henson all the way.

I finally just finished watching the last episode and I have to say a part of me found it a let down, I felt the same way about the last episode in the first series I really wanted !Spoilers if you haven't seen it!, Cohle to die, it would have been a fitting end for him in my opinion.

Yes the baby thing was there for a reason clearly, it seemed like sons were the issue.

Both series have been able to keep me surprised in many ways and I was always shocked by a death or some unfortunate betrayal except in this last episode, I felt like I knew what would happen to each character and that was a bit of a let down.

Great series anyway and if they get a third one there is no way to know the outcome since there was so many things different in this second one from the ending of the first one.

I seem to be alone here. The first series of this show knocked me out. I couldn't believe the brilliance and originality of it, as well as the stupendous acting. The second series featured superb acting, but otherwise I thought it blew an entire primate house. I mean I thought it sucked like an industrial vacuum cleaner. I also couldn't find any theme that connected it in spirit to the first series. Just my opinion, of course. I am a huge Colin Farrell fan, and he was great as ever, but even his eminent coolness couldn't save it, for me.
Now, could someone explain what's meant by the baby issue? I read the previous posts and was tryin' to figger out what y'all was refferin' to, but couldn't.

Just that all the men had problems when it came to kids, one can't have a child and it's discussed throughout the season, another has problems in the finding his girlfriend attractive department and then see's the kid as a way to not be who he is and the third doesn't know if the child he raised is his and it's taken away from him. So the point simply was that the three men have a subplot (small as it can be) that concerns kids but the only female in the group doesn't.
