I'm new to this forum. For lack of social contacts in physical world I'm looking to make connections in the digital world. I figured a forum based around literature would be a good place to start beings I usually read a little bit each day. I'm currently reading War and Peace. I decided to read this after reading Into the Wild deciding I had a lot in common with who the book was about. I usually take to books a a philosophical nature. Its nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you, too, Jester. Welcome to the site. War and Peace is a big favorite around this joint. I've even read Into the Wild, which was okay, although the story was (necessarily) a little fragmented. Plus it was ultimately about a guy who--oh wait: SPOILER!--um, okay, so it was ultimately about a guy who starves to death. Not my thing, really, but to each his own. Ecurb is an outdoorsy guy, so maybe he can discuss it (or that sort of thing) with you. Give me Tolstoy any day, though. Anyway, welcome. I hope you enjoy the site. :)

Nice to meet you, Jester. First let me say that your opening sounds exactly like me and is the reason I'm here as well, namely a dearth of friends in the physical world; likewise, I also hoped that a site featuring as many canny literary folk as this would be replete with friend possibilities. They're all very nice, though I haven't yet made any "friend friends." Maybe if I bathed more...<sniffs armpit>
