Welcome Kelly. I prefer English and Russian literature (and a little Chinese) to American until you get to the last fifty years or so. I also love good, university-level history and anything from the ancient world. I hope you enjoy the site. :)

I am indeed a huge fan of Poe! Rufus Griswold was Poe's literary executor, of course. The tragic tale regarding his wife, Caroline, pulls at my heartstrings. It seems that you and I may need to have a chat sometime about Poe and Grufus. I look forward to your posts, as well. : )

The more I have learned about Griswold the more I realize he was not the villain most Poe devotees would claim; he was definitely far more interesting than one would think given he is now regarded by most as merely a footnote in Poe's biography.
