I'm working on the above topic. Is there anything important or interesting I should know? Also, how should I proceed with this one? I was about to begin with authors closely related to Victorian manner, i.e Alfred Tennyson, then move on with Charles Dicken and his attack on Victorian snobbery, then turning to the 20th century with the shift from Romanticism to Modernism. What do you think?

Welcome, James. We don't do the homework for you here, but if you want to throw out a few of your own ideas, you may stimulate discussion that will turn out to be useful to you. Good luck in any case and welcome to the site.

I think the topic is very wide for a single thesis. It would be more manageable if limited to poetry or novels or drama. Even then a short assignment could simply consist of a list of names.
So, to keep things focussed, your friend Tennyson might be enough to represent the 19th century. You could show how his concerns and his treatment of them are typical of C19th writing.
Then you could take a representative C20th poet - maybe T. S. Eliot is the only one with comparable stature to Tennyson - and show how his concerns and his treatment of them are typical of C20th writing.
Then compare and contrast the two.
