Cowardly Spring
Too subtle for most but not for me,
I see through your sorcery.
You put on your obscene display
And give me naught but sight and smell;
No words wherewith to sing and play,
No place wherein my thoughts can dwell.
O Spring, you cowardly tease,
You came upon me without warning
And scattered my leaves on the breeze
Like a thief in the morning.
