Both would be patient and happy.
Neither would be fearful of the past or the future.

that is easy for a gentleman not so for a woman me thinks haha :D
i agree fear that when fear is out of the way the near is here.
it is the nature of us to conquer and conquest i should think fear is the least of our query. it can be pushed down and dealt with. timing is crucial that is all.

The best answer I can think of would probably the idea expressed many brilliant, intelligent or wise people: to simply allow people to exist without my expectations or judgments..

That's probably the best thing I can do for anybody, just to be myself when around them, and allow them to be theirself.

And so that principle of allowing one to be who they wish to be, without judgement or prediction, would be the best way to describe the nature of being a gentleman or lady.

I should qualify this with a 4th paragraph, because I realized, cultivation of good qualities in others is undoubtedly a part of it as well - and that's one that naturally enough seems to where you cultivate the qualities in yourself first, and then as we affect other by our character and actions and words, having a good character helps others.

In other words, looking for the good in others, encouraging them when they need encouragement. In short, being a friend.

And of course, when problems arise, knowing generally a skillful way of solving them.

what a gentleman you ask for or to be suitable for a gentlewoman? A gentleman is indeed who respect himself and not ignore the woman desires and wishing and filling her sparetime
