reading is for enjoyment
and if by any chance
it finds it is anointment
it stains
but does not slain
it is clear
but it does not here
getting there is fear
too much macabre may steer
it goes back
and find another appointment
writing defines:
it is worth a line
when a word minds
because
it likes to think
it does not like to sink
sailing alleviates
to deviate
any boat can appreciate

Reading is for travel in the mind.
Writing is for recruiting companions,
While sailing will actually get you there.
Reading is for learning where to go and
How to get there, building galleons
Of the mind, trudging across the desert,
Flying airships to far lands imagined,
Or even the real lands that travelers
Have visited in their real sailing ships.
Written about to seduce poor readers
To join them in their folly or their force.
James Brooke, the Rajah of Sarawak
William Walker, President of Nicaragua
Others followed dreams into foreign lands.
They there sailed in real ships on real oceans,
And their weapons and foes were also real.
Bob Denard twice conquered the Comoros.
He lived a long and storied life after
He took to following dreams not the boss.
Mike Hoare tried for the Seychelles Islands,
But his crew was betrayed by an error.
One man got into the wrong customs line.
