Hello! I was looking on a website where I found somebody's signature at the bottom, and it read something like this: a pawn unwilling to be sacrificed may as well not even be on the board" - Mori motonari

I honestly don't think the person who I found it by will reply even if I asked him/her because he/she last logged on so long ago.

So, this is why I come to you.

I have tried googling quotes by this Mori Motonari, or even books, but since he's a samurai, I found it very hard to find any quote by this man.

I am fascinated with samurai, and also obsessed with finding where this quote came from because I like samurai and I also want to see other quotes (if any) by this man. This is driving me crazy to be honest. I don't know whether the person who posted this mis-attributed the quote to an author, or rather made it up and then put an author's name on it...

I appreciate any legitimate help, and I hope this is enough information.

Thank you for seeing this post through!

If I'm honest I don't know, but it sounds like something he might say in one of the Dynasty Warriors games or Sengoku Basara anime/manga.
