Greetings and good evening, fellow bibliophiles. I'm new to this site, a lover of fantasy, sometimes sci-fi, and with occasional forays into gardening authors (Beverly Nichols and Anne Lovejoy in particular), mysteries, and lots and LOTS of art, fashion, and costuming books.
I found this site, and signed up in the hopes of tracking down an old (early-mid century, I suspect) short story that I recall a scene from - but not the title or author, naturally, and which I remember reading in 5th grade - approximately 30ish yrs ago. The setting, or maybe the title (less likely) would have been the Torn Times.
Does this ring any bells, or could someone please direct me as to how best to search? I can provide further description, but wanted to introduce myself first.
