Politics in the forums

So why exactly do the forums get locked when things get political?

Because. If I allowed politics then discussions could get very heated and people would start arguing about politics and people would get upset, angry, and they might leave. Thats not the kind of atmosphere I want.

If the world wasn't so polarized right now it wouldn't be such an issue, but every political discussion I've seen on other message boards always ends in a fight and I don't want that here.
