Darkness comes and shadows crawl
Listen now and hear me all
Hope will die and love won’t last
Light will fade and you’ll be lost

Your hearts will stop and turn to stone
The spirit of mankind is gone
Sun will drown and moon will burn
And the stars we will forever mourn

It reads like a poem about the end of the world: hope dies, light fades and hearts turn to stone, so the final line throws me with it's "we will forever mourn". Is it just a poem about depression?
