It came from out of space it did
From extremely far away
It fell to Earth with a splat it did
A wet thud, and a spray
It pulls itself together again
The pieces creeping back
And soon as it is whole again
An earpiercing THRAACK!
It throbbles a little and it shrobbles
It horbles a bit and it worbles
It wrobbles a little and it phrobbles
It jorbles a bit
And it glorbles
Its song it echoes around the valley
The vibrations like aural gales
Those mountains a geological alley
Up peaks and down dales
Moopling and whoozing and phrartling
Eating everything in its path
And as soon as it finishes a phrartling
It repeats, and then restarts
But the farmers had been alerted
The police and marines too
With shotguns they try to divert it
Not a dent that they can do
The police cars attempt to rout it
To drive it toward the beach
It gobbles them up, no doubt about it
Then regurges over the reach
Next the tanks try to blast the bastard
It merely absorbs the shells
Shell upon shell but it won't be blasted
Suddenly the ringing bells
They'll need to bomb it to tiny little pieces
And put those bits in specimen jars
And to a laboratory secretly take the pieces
And study their molecular structures
The bombers they arrive in squadron
Roaring from over a mountain
As they drop their Hellish cauldrons
The thing explodes like a fountain
Yes! A fountain of space stink and jelly
Made of millions of hot little bits
A splurping noise from the alien's belly
As it becomes a bag of fried grits
Next to arrive are the space scientists
Scooping up all the globules
Before the arrival of extraterrestrialists
To seek proof of blobules
They vaccuum over the landscape
Hoovering an inch of topsoil
Til everywhere shines like a grape
Just in time before the tinfoil
They'll sift out the bits for testing
Keep them frozen in a vault
Round the clock without resting
Enthusiastic to a fault
They'll find how they reproduce
How they eat, and what
Determine why, and try deduce
Just why they are so hot
It's because they've been infected
With an alien fungal strain
With spasmodic fevers detected
And increasing body pain
The Glorbler brought cosmic diseases
An epidemic that has no cure
The afflicted look like Swiss cheeses
Of this you can be sure
