Blue-Tinged Clouds

What did it mean before this,
our prism’s unfolding
into blue-tinged clouds,
if what it meant was meaning?

Thoughts stray from their creator,
omnipotency reduced to a clear
hard glass through which everything
is visible, distant and unreachable.

Solid forms assemble in soft fog,
relating implausible messages,
and what will I believe

if not your empty face, flushed
with dreaming, sad with marriage?
