Petitioning my Muse

[virtuoso]

I built a bridge to her heart
words not in whole but in part
a rough draft sent from shy page
her quaint signs and tone to gauge

Then scored each half note to scale
the soft sounds on lines did braille
but with slow beats could not chart
the long rests that pause then start

Into her eyes cast a snare
intent a deep verse to share
the flash points that sparked were warm
but bright flash veiled the true form

A sweet tune piped through each drum
her fine-tuned heart strings to strum
a soft echo drew me close
to faint jumble of light prose
