What do you write first?

When you write a poem do you start with the first line, a general idea or the last line?

This thread is a bit dated, but it's the first time I've encountered it.

The creative process is complex for me. I usually start with a general idea, nothing you could call concrete; but the first line will drive me from there: often in tangents I could scarcely imagine from the start. Word associations/word play sometimes just happens spontaneously when I write. Rarely will the last line come to my mind first (I can't recall a time this has happened, but it may have).
