I got my mom Open Secrets and Who Do You Think You Are? by Alice Munro, also ' Colour Green' by Sibylle Baier but that's a CD. I didn't buy anything for anyone else and don't expect to get anything.

You mean there's an un-illustrated Kamasutra? Hmm. Ah I get it. It's the adult version.

Mentioned in another thread that I was getting my girlfriend Lolita for Christmas. For anyone who is wondering, no, she is not a nymphet, nor is she many, many years younger than I. :P

I think I'm getting some books from my father, but I have no idea which ones. I suspect they may be about Proust, since he knows I'm reading ISOLT right now. As for giving, I haven't decided what to buy yet...

Haha a little diagrammatic demonstration in a practical handbook on applied physiology always helps.

I gifted 8 P.G. Wodehouse novels, especially from Blandings series, to an online friend who couldn't find them in her city and nearabouts.
Forced to accept a gift return, I received a couple of books one of which is J.M. Coetzee's Disgrace. So I will be reading the latter sooner rather than later.

I'm giving (it hasn't arrived yet) my brother Hadji Murat in an attempt to get him to like Tolstoy. I said if he doesn't like the first 50 pages I will return it and get him A Game of Thrones. I'm getting myself Nox by Anne Carson, and my coworker who gave me four Altoid tins is getting the selected poems of Wallace Stevens.
I gave my brother:
The Sorrows of Young Werther
The Glass Bead Game
Contact
and two other books I can't remember.
