In this novel, the members of the party were in progress of commissioning a new form of language called Newspeak. Newspeak basically takes English, and boils it down to only what is needed. Most adjectives are removed, as one can get by with a selected few to communicate. Orwell’s warning in this is that, we mustn't let the government control our forms of language. The main goal behind this new form of speaking is to strengthen the power of Big Brother and the party. Without all of these adjectives, no one can thoroughly describe, and express what is actually occurring. Basically, if you cannot say it, you will not. If we let a supreme power grasp our only way of expression, we will fall victim to excessive power. My point here is, expression is greater than oppression. The ways through which we put out opinions, is much more powerful than what a government can push onto us.
