We constantly hear Winston telling himself that if there is hope it lies it the proles. His visits there have become more significant to him than just a stroll. There he not only can buy beautiful things which he would no other way be able to have and he can see the few remaining citizens of before the revolution. But, is it going somewhere? I feel as if Winston's will soon become even more important. His mention of the room he could rent out, and his appreciation for the antiques and painting seem as if he may realize that the proles's life (in my opinion) is free and true, better. He could live without telescreens and without surveillance. I also realize that he does live a life of the party, and this out of the norm lifestyle of the proles may not occur to him as better. For after all freedom is slavery. But if there is hope it lies in the proles. Maybe there his love affair with his former stalker could flourish? But if so, how without party punishment? So many possibilities lie in the proles.

All hope lies with the proles due to their massive population size. If there was a revolution to take place the proles would make up the majority of the army. The only fault of the proles is the fact that they are uneducated. Big brother has limited their education to make them less of a threat.
