Meet Big C

I’m Cerberus the guardian dog, does that ring a bell
Come on think, yeah that’s right, I’m outside the gates of hell
Here for all eternity, god what a lousy rotten job
And Cerberus I ask you, why not Rover, Spot or Bob

Three heads, six pairs of eyes, brown, blue and green
Cos old man Zeus the dirty rat rearranged my genes
Three sets of jaws always arguing in never-ending debate
How would you like schizophrenia in bloody triplicate?

Why was I put here? Well this is what’s it’s about
We let all the baddies in but we never let them out
Here he comes again old Hitler dressed as a bloody nun
Well go on I bit him yesterday; it’s your turn number one

You know Old Nicks not a bad lad in spite of his nasty ways
He brings us a bones Tuesday and meat on Saturdays
Now I’ll just check our guest list, they come from far and near
Gay deceivers, unbelievers, you sure your name’s not here?

You weren’t involved with Wicca or any other superstition?
Well you’re not among the lawyers or the listed politicians
Oh I see you’re not dead yet, well that explains it mate
No problem I’m always here, all I ever do is wait.

Amazing poem, Carousel! You must have been very much inspired. Your poem not only sounds great, it looks great as a picture - it really resembles the creature you are talking about. Like a big, terrifying dog.

Thanks Free. I’m glad you liked this, just a bit of fun really, I like to mix the content because there’s so much doom and gloom and bleeding hearts around poetry forums so its fun to lighten the atmosphere on occasions.
