Cockatoos fly and squawk
They drown out any thought and talk
Twitter from other birds
Simply can't be heard
They gather in my tree
Screeching loudly down at me
Magpies take to wing
Wagtails just can't sing
Children run and hide
from the cackling in the sky
Then they swoop down on my lawn
And eat the seeds I spread at dawn
They bob their heads and prance around
I think the circus has come to town
From the corner of my eye
I spot a cat on the sly
As Slurkie gives them a feline fright
Suddenly they all take flight
In a flash this small white cloud
Flies right up and I laugh out loud
Hanging off the power lines
Looking so unrefined
They dangle topsy turvy
Squawking without majesty
I drink my tea through this morning show
They'll land again in a minute I know...

Hanging from power lines would make anyone look unrefined. Nice description of those birds and Slurkie.

Very nicely done, I enjoyed the rhyme and the image of the birds. Your poem flowed easily and was a joy to read.

An amusing observation poem; I remember a tip I took to heart way back which was ‘Be an observer of the little things and the reader will see the poem through your eyes’

One small picky, one suggestion.

They drown out any thought and talk-- I think that ‘of talk’ works better

The circus reference is good, so good in fact that it deserves to be enhanced with a double line rhyme.
Something like this.
They bob their heads and prance around
The circus clowns have come to town
You could add something like ‘Wow’ to the beginning which keeps to the format of you telling the readers what you are seeing.

Well done, I enjoyed your Cockatoos and Magpies.
